I am halfway through the run of Fiddler On The Roof, and it is a big success. This past weekend the crowds almost filled the place to capacity. We (the cast and crew) have been getting nothing but positive comments about how the audience loves the show. Word is spreading quickly about how good it is, so for those of you who want to come see it, now's the time to order your tickets! The box office # for the theater is 215-234-0966. The website is www.dcptheatre.com for directions.

So I got to the theater @ 1pm today for our 2pm performance when our director calls the whole cast out on stage and tells us that the show for today is cancelled because Al, the man playing Tevye, lost his voice and couldn't sing. Never before have I experienced this. If someone's sick then another actor usually replaces him/her for the performance. But since this was the main guy, the centerpiece of it all, the director felt it just wouldn't be the best possible performance. He refunded the audience their money, and instead we just performed a few numbers from the show. We all agreed it wouldn't be fair for all of those people to come to the theater for nothing, so we chose the songs that featured pretty much the entire cast onstage.
I wish this could have happened yesterday because then I would have gone to Lupine's Halloween meet!

This coming week is going to be very busy for me at the theater. Tomorrow I am going to be there pretty much all day because the dialogue, lighting and sound have to all be coordinated to perfection. This means I'm probably going to have to repeat my lines over and over in most of my scenes which will get tedious. I've done this many times before. Monday and Tuesday we run the full show, Wednesday is dress rehearsal, Thursday we get a break, and Friday is opening night. But the show is coming together real nicely. I've bonded with a lot of the cast and we're really gelling onstage. I'm positive it is going to be a great show.
And speaking of which, if you want to come see it, go to www.dutchcountryplayers.com (website for Dutch Country Players) to order tickets. The show, Fiddler On The Roof, will be running to mid-November, so you have plenty of time. It would be awesome if you will come support me. I'd love to see you there!
P.S. If you decide to come, PLEASE don't wear tails, ears or fursuits. I'd like to say I'm kidding when I say that, but...

Losing my fucking job in December!
Turns out that MFF is a no-go for me this year because I will be finishing up the final run of my play that weekend. But I really want to go to Further Confusion, and before I leave any messages on their boards requesting roomspace I just thought I'd ask people who I know if they're going and need roommates.
So.....?

Hey, peoples! Would anyone who has a room for MFF be willing to allow a cute, cuddly blue bunny to stay there from Thursday night to Monday morning? I have an air mattress, but I will be bringing my fursuit. All I require is space in the closet for maintaining it. I'd rather room with people I know than strangers.
I arrived home last night from Cancun and I had a great time. This was a special trip because it marks the 20th wedding anniversary of my mom and stepfather, Ed. There were ten of us total: myself, my mother & Ed of course, my sister Laurie, her husband Matt, my stepsister Nadine, her husband George, their son and my nephew David, my brother Dan, and his girlfriend Jen. We stayed at the Moon Palace Sunrise, and everything was all-inclusive which meant the meals and drinks were all free! The only thing we really had to pay for was stuff we bought on our own and tips for services (because that's the best way those people earn their living). The accommodations were awesome, and the staff were the most courteous & friendly people on the face of the earth. Oh, and it was hot....really hot. Even at night the humidity was a lot to bear. But to make a long story short, I did some things I never did before in my life such as go across a zip line, off-roading, wave running, and snorkeling. The zip line and riding the ATV was my favorite part of the whole trip. Another highlight was Chichen Itza, an archaeological site of the ancient Mayans with a lot of history and symbolism. They were a very interesting people and extremely innovative for their time, I must say. And I even saw Mexican president Juan Calderon at the hotel! He was giving a presentation about the swine flu, and it was held at my hotel of all places. I caught a glimpse of him coming down the escalators with a whole entourage of bodyguards and press people. I didn't have my camera at the time, so I couldn't take pictures. On days when we didn't have organized activities, there was a whole lot of lounging out by the pool, eating and drinking. Thanks, mom and Ed, for a wonderful vacation.
P.S. If you give a damn, you can view photos of the trip here: www.flickr.com/photos/aoi_usagi/. And I hope everyone who went to AC had/is having a blast!

In two days I'll be heading out on a week's vacation with my family. We're celebrating my mother and stepfather's 20th anniversary and we're staying at the Moon Palace in Cancun like last year. Won't be as busy as it was last time because then we went in mid-March when all the college kids were on their spring break. Needless to say, I'm really pumped for this.
And to everyone who's going to AC, have a blast, but be careful!
EDIT: In unrelated news, I heard about Michael Jackson's death after I typed the above entry. Even though he had a lot of screws loose, he was truly a great performer who gave us such memorable music over the years. You can't deny he had a tremendous impact on the music industry. R.I.P.

It's finally done! My blue bunny, Barrett, has come to life thanks to the talent of Lacy and Nick from Fursuiting.com. I am sooooo psyched to perform in this guy. I plan on attending more cons later this year excluding AC since I'll be on vacation, but I'm looking forward to all the fun and wackiness and just being a complete goofball. Anyways, here are some pics. Enjoy!
P.S. Lacy, I hope you don't mind that I'm posting your pics here.

I'm getting my fursuit at the end of this month or the beginning of June. So that I don't sweat into the fur, what's the best (inexpensive) material to wear underneath and where can I buy it? And how do you take care of your fursuits when you're not wearing them so that they don't stink?

Moon Mochi's (<lj user = "dragonof31102"></lj>)bowling meet was fun Sat night, but I'm upset over something that happened that I wasn't aware had happened. And it indirectly involves me.

I should have told everyone in my lane what I was doing and what my intentions were which makes it partly my fault, but it isn't all my fault. The two people who knew where the guy went could have said, "Hey, so-and-so is back. We don't know how you skipped his turn, could you set him up so he could bowl?" I would have gladly done that. Or they could have said, "Hey, so-and-so thinks you're not letting him bowl. He's really upset." Something like that. I would have talked to the guy and set things straight.
Christ...I try to make a good first impression on perfect strangers, and I think they got the wrong idea about me. I'd easily blow this off if I didn't have such a hard time making friends.

Sometimes I wish I had the balls to do what that kid did in the movie Into The Wild. Journey through the woods, mountains and plains and live every day like it was my last day on earth, an adventure. Just leave civilization behind and not have to worry about the stress of a job, money, bills, or any of that crap. Honestly, it would scare the shit out of me to do something like that.
But then again, living a regular life with the way things are right now is pretty scary, too.

I actually knew Seth Green back in the late 80s before he became famous. He and I went to the same summer camp together and were in the same unit.
Oh, and I got the autographs of all 4 original members of Black Sabbath when they reunited for a reunion tour. The signed poster is on my bedroom wall behind plastic casing.

This recession has claimed another casualty, namely me. Sometime between June and September I will be losing my job.
It isn't just the bad economy that's to blame. See, there are two main offices in my company: King of Prussia (where I work) and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Cedar Rapids office has a department with people who do the same kind of work as I do. The amount of work we have been getting has been dwindling as of late, however, the Iowa people have been getting higher production and fewer errors in their checks than in PA. The company had to make a decision which office to keep open since, obvously, the country has fallen on hard economic times. With better performance out of the Cedar Rapids workers, plus the fact that their wages are less than those in K of P, which office do you think will stay open? It's really a no-brainer.
If there is an upside to this, I have at least 4 mos. to find another job. Plus, I've been through much worse times in my life than this, but I won't get into that.
